How To Permanently Stop Updates to Specific Android Apps
#1 First of all, open up the Android Studio tool on your PC and then inside this look for the file named keytool.exe. You can use the search field for that purpose and more probably you would be able to find the file easily. This file is to be worked with so do not close the path or the window showing this file and move ahead to the next step aside to that.
#2 Now open up the Command Prompt on your computer providing the all administrative access to it. For that, you can Press the Cntrl+X keys on your keyboard followed by the A button pressing which would help to prompt to ask you for the permissions or the administrative access. Simply confirm the prompt and move ahead with the method.
#3 Now locate the path of the keytool.exe file inside the cmd using the CD command. Once you have directed to the location, execute the below command for changing the location of the file:
key tool -genkey -v -keystore
C:first-key.keystore -alias alias_has_no_name -keyalg
RSA -key size 2048 -validity 10000
Replace First-key and the alias_has_no_name with any name of your choice.
#4 After processing the above command you would be asked to fill some password, just type in any password that you could remember. After that confirm various prompts by pressing Y key on the keyboard.
#5 Now download the APK file for the app you wish to install and hence get no updates forever. Just replace the file inside the path from the first step and place this apk there in place of Keytools. Now using the extractor or the Winrar open up the APK file and then delete the META-INF folder from there.
#6 Run the below command after the above step :
jarsinger -verbose -sigalg
SHA1withRSA -digestalg SHA1
Use the names you used in the above commands in place of First-key and alias_has_no_name.
#7 Now simply copy the apk file to your phone and run it to install the app. This won’t get the updates now in the future forever.
